Craving satisfied! The plant-based Impossible Burger is almost too good to be true! If given this burger, it would be difficult to tell that it isn't meat. And that's the point, isn't it? Impossible? Try it for yourself!
"The food is served fresh. The self-checkout kiosk was a little difficult to use; after tapping my card, it showed the transaction failed. I tried a second time, and the payment was successful. The outlet is fine, with music playing. It would be perfect if the staff serving food were more friendly, the trays were properly cleaned (I noticed chili sauce on the tray from previous use), and the tables were cleaned after customers used them."
"The previous two times I visited this outlet, I told myself I was never coming back.
This time, I waited exactly 20 minutes for two pathetic rice burgers, probably due to severe understaffing. Many angry customers were waiting. 🫠
Come only if you have time to wait for really sad food. I would have given it 0 stars if that was an option."
"My egg was burned, and they said it was the burned parsley. Maybe they should clean the grill of leftover parsley before making the egg. The owner was friendly and tried his best to make up for it, but the younger, more experienced cook in the kitchen just didn't seem to care."
Selling local food, but Penang style, though the taste is similar to local flavors. Cooked by one person on the spot, and after you order. Located in the basement of Tampines Hub, very convenient. You can do some shopping after your meal. Reasonable price, and the serving portion is enough for one person.
"Ordered takeaway Penang Laksa. It wasn't very flavorful, and the noodles were quite hard, suggesting it wasn't fresh. There were only a few strands of sardines and vegetables, and nothing else."
We ordered Penang prawn mee, and it came in a pretty big bowl. Nice. The prawn seemed to have come from char kway teow, not boiled, but tasted like char prawn, as you could see. The fried pork tasted nice and tender, with a balanced taste.
Service 5/5, food 3/5, atmosphere is suitable if you're looking for a quick meal. The seats are stools and have no backrests.
I tried the Assam laksa because I've been missing it, but the taste was a huge miss for me. On top of that, there wasn't much *liao* (the fish was dismal). The *hor fun* my friend had was much better. That said, the service was lovely! I really liked the uncles serving us.
I was pleasantly surprised by the Penang Prawn Noodle Soup. It tasted wonderful, full of umami and prawn soup flavor. Though I don't usually like chili, the spiciness was great. It paired well with the Honey Lemon drink. I will come back again for the noodles, and to try other dishes!
"Ordered sambal fried rice and hor fun. The cutlery was quite exquisite and nice. However, there weren't many other merits. The food mostly tasted like salt (no sambal flavor), and the hor fun tasted overwhelmingly of sodium. It was also quite expensive - $7 for hawker food. It's also very cramped here. Eating upstairs at the hawker center is a smarter choice; I won't be back."
