I don't know about the other reviews giving low stars, because I came during a less busy period, around 4pm, for their popiah.
I bought the prawn filling popiah around 3:30. The portion is big and worth it if you want a healthy snack. Their popiah is healthy yet delicious, with crunchy and crispy vegetables and ingredients (that's the closest I can describe the texture). It's a must-try, in my opinion.
The staff was fast, and the popiah was fresh. The kopi is classic kopi.
The atmosphere is great, too.
Will be back for more!
"Seating was pretty fast, even though there was a long queue during lunch, it moved quickly.
We ordered three items and received them in this sequence: laksa first, then popiah, and finally nasi lemak. All arrived within 10 minutes, as they stated (10-15 minutes during lunch time).
I enjoyed the nasi lemak; the anchovies were really crispy, and the rice had a nice fragrance.
The popiah - the ends had quite a bit of sugar in them. The first taste was of sugar after biting in, but the middle pieces were okay."
Nice outlet with quality food. The lontong dish is rather nice, especially the sayur lodeh, which is very fragrant and well-made. The rice cake, however, was rather mashed and sticky, so the taste wasn’t fantastic. The chicken wings looked nice on the outside but were too cold when served, and the inside didn’t seem fully cooked. The rest of the dishes, like the prawn laksa, are generally decent, too.
Cheap and good food.
I had the Laksa. It wasn't Katong standard, but it was good enough. There was flavor in the gravy, lots of liao, and five prawns, all for $6.80. Good enough for me.
The filet, sausage, and chicken meatloaf rice was only $5.50, and it tasted way better and had a larger portion than some "branded" nasi lemak stalls.
The poh piah is $2.70. It was tasty and flavorful, and quite filling; my family shared two.
Overall, it's a nice place to eat. It's clean, the staff are friendly, and the food comes quickly and is hot. I'll go again. It was air-conditioned, too.
"It's been a while since I ate at Qiji, and I feel the standard has dropped for the Nasi Lemak and Lontong. So today I just tried the Mee Rebus. Surprisingly, it was nice 👍, but the popiah was a bit disappointing. The ingredients inside were cut into pieces that were too big. The standard has also dropped for the Popiah."
This is a simple, no-frills local food eatery. I had the Nasi Lemak Set 1 (chicken fillet, luncheon meat, egg, sausage) with an otah add-on (one piece). The otah add-on cost $1, which I felt was too expensive since it was such a small piece (next to the metal spoon in the image). The popiah was a little bland, too. But overall, it's still a good choice.
The curry chicken cutlet was extremely salty, even without the curry gravy. They gave me nasi lemak rice because normal rice was sold out, even though it was only 7 pm and the dinner crowd was just starting. The laksa egg noodle was literally Maggie Mee with clams. I wish they had used traditional cockles instead. The only good thing was the popiah. We had to clear our own tray, but the table was dirty and the seat was oily.
Went here for a family bonding session on a Sunday evening.
There's a discount for Passion Card holders.
The staff was efficient and patient.
The bowling shoes were clean and didn't smell, which was a plus.
The bowling alleys were well-lit, and we had lots of fun playing.
We bought some drinks from the vending machine. Most of the drinks were delicious and well-made; some were on the sweeter side.
"We had a really disappointing experience at this bowling alley. When we arrived, we only had a few minutes to discuss whether to go with the hourly or per-game option, but the staff rushed us and seemed irritated by our questions. Instead of being helpful, they were rude and dismissive, making us feel unwelcome."
