Located inside Our Tampines Hub.
Free entry and free air conditioning.
A great place to spend your time reading and browsing books, and also to escape Singaporeβs hot weather.
The range of reading material was wide. Borrowing and returning books was easy, with self-service options available.
I was impressed by the book return machine. You just place the books into the machine, ensure the "returned" sign appears, and that's it. It's interesting that the machine is able to move to another location after it detects that it's full.
Strongly recommended to drop by.
The Tampines Hub Library is an amazing location to read, learn, relax, and read again. It's packed with a lot of goodies for everyone, with five levels of dedicated areas for kids, children, teens, young adults, adults, and seniors. Other than books, which any other library provides, it also has an audio section, video lessons, movies, cooking lessons, a kids' playground, a study area, a computer area, and a venue for events. The list goes on and on. It's a massive upgrade from the previous library. The rich design and color do set the mood for each level you are at. It's a must to check this place out!
"Fantastic collection of books, DVDs, and other educational materials. It's certainly pleasing to the eye aesthetically, with its modern look and spaciousness, though you have to walk quite a distance to drop your books off.
In addition, there are great views due to the glass panels that allow you to see the main road and the stadium.
Last but not least, there are many private corners where you can read in peace. Loved such intimacy π"
Previously, I encountered a rude staff member who wouldn't let me prepare a milk bottle at the entrance. They seemed to think I was bringing my toddler to the library *just* to feed him. I didn't even get a chance to take my son to the library to introduce him to books.
Today, my husband and I attempted to introduce him to the library and books, but before we even got to the lift, my son became interested in the exhibition. He explored it for a bit, but a security guard became upset that I was pushing a pram. He assumed I was pushing the pram *through* the exhibition, when I was simply standing in a corner, replying to messages.
Tampines Library is the worst (sadly, it's in my neighborhood), and please don't advocate introducing books or reading to children when your staff is not at all aligned with this principle.
"There are lots of books available, but some of the staff are pretty rude, while others are useless because they don't get rid of the selfish parents and their screaming kids."
Located within Our Tampines Hub (OTH), this library has five levels that cater to all ages, from level 2 for young children to level 6 for older residents. All levels are accessible via escalators or lifts, and the library features modern facilities.
The residents of Tampines are very lucky. It was quite crowded on the Sunday I visited, and it looks like the library is widely used and popular.
"Quite a huge supermarket located in the basement of Tampines Hub. There are a lot of items throughout the store, and it being open 24 hours is pretty nice. You can also buy bento boxes at the entrance. It's clean and well-maintained, and there are a lot of products on discount. π The self-checkout worked well, too."
"Supermarket with all the ingredients you need for making a sandwich. πππππππ₯ͺπ§ππ§π₯π Hope to see raspberries and blackberries! πππ The ham is nice. ππππ I was unable to find avocado on Wednesday and Thursday, but finally saw jumbo avocados on Saturday! ππππ₯π₯π₯ On Monday, I only managed to buy normal-sized avocados; I never saw the jumbo ones. ππππ₯π₯π₯ Unripe avocado tastes bitter and hard. π₯²π₯²π₯²"
OTH outlet is spacious, neat, and clean, with a lot of varieties and sometimes good promotions. However, I'm reducing stars because I'm irritated by their self-checkout staff. They keep asking customers, "Do you need a plastic bag? Scan to pay for it." Sometimes I see her asking how many plastic bags they paid for. She asked me too, and I told her I had paid for the plastic bag. Then I showed her my receipt, and she said, "No need, I trust you" (please!). If you trust me, then don't bother to ask. Other outlets don't do that. OTH Manager, if you are so concerned about plastic bag payments, you may follow Cold Storage's style: have your staff hold onto the plastic bags and give them to customers when they show proof of payment.
