"They don't accept walk-ins, even if staff have the capacity to serve walk-in customers. This alienates less tech-savvy generations. What happened to being an inclusive nation?"

"Never call the HDB Tampines branch; your call will just go round and round, and a sweet female AI voice will keep talking and giving you instructions. What happened to all the HDB employees?"

"The HDB officers have not been efficiently addressing renovation noises and issues that went beyond the stipulated office hours. They did not resolve the issue and still sided with the renovators after more than 3 months of renovation. The officer was not responsive over the phone and did not take action to escalate the issue. After that, the issues were passed to another guy (whose name I didn't get) who was even worse. He didn't listen to or address our grievances about the constant noise, and cited many other reasons that didn't help to directly address or resolve the issue (e.g., carpentry work). This went on into the 4th month of noise. It's extremely frustrating, and I hope to understand from HDB what the renovation guidelines are, as your officers don't seem to be aware of them or taking any action, or even listening to residents' feedback."

Booked an appointment online, but upon arrival, the service center counter staff informed us they were out for lunch. The staff simply told us to place the form in the pigeon hole. In the end, we forwent the appointment.

Terrible, terrible, terrible for office hour workers seeking walk-in assistance when all branches are closed on Saturday. I tried using e-services but was asked to go to a branch.

"It was easy to book an appointment on the HDB website and come to this centre, which is preferable to Toa Payoh. This place is very spacious (even the elderly come in and sit down to escape the hot weather!).
It wasn't crowded on a Friday late afternoon. I settled my transaction with a friendly HDB staff member within 25 minutes."

It's a co-shared location with other government services, so don't look specifically for an HDB logo. It's located within a ServiceSG Centre on the ground floor of Tampines Hub. Parking is also available at Tampines Hub. I spent about 20 minutes navigating, even with Google Maps and asking a cleaner for directions, so I hope this post clarifies things. It gets a 4-star rating because I like the idea of it being a one-stop location for all government services, such as CPF, PA, and even an SPF self-help kiosk.

"Many thanks to Daniel at reception, who was so helpful and went the extra mile. We weren’t making a transaction, but he helped us clarify our queries about a process we were trying to understand.
Do take note that an appointment is required at this branch; otherwise, you may have to wait 3 hours as a walk-in."

Co-located within the Public Service Centre, the staff are helpful and friendly. You need to make an appointment before meeting with staff, which is a bit troublesome but good for safe distancing. I heard you can still request a Saturday appointment, but only for special requests. Finally, they've updated the operating hours. 🤟
