I could have given this a 5-star rating, but this was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Wok Hey outlet, and it was my first time buying food from the Tampines Hub branch.
Although the shop was already open when I arrived, I came just 5–10 minutes early. However, the staff member (makcik) told me to come back at 10:30 AM. She could have simply taken my order then. When I came back at 10:30 AM and waited, she said I had to wait. I noticed she was on the phone and the cook (abang) was doing prep work. While I understand he was occupied, they should always serve customers first. Customers shouldn’t have to wait unnecessarily just to place an order, especially when they’re hungry.
Additionally, when the staff member (Makcik) asked if I wanted chili, I said no. However, it seems she didn’t inform the cook, and the dish still ended up spicy. Just because I’m Malay doesn’t mean I automatically like spicy food; preferences vary from person to person. Not everyone likes spicy food.
I work part-time in the F&B industry myself, so I understand a bit about how things operate. However, they should always serve customers first before handling other tasks.

Ordered their food through their shop, and the management was terrible. How could they allow customers to cut in line in the first place? I could see that their orders were super messed up. Someone who ordered after me was getting their food before me. If the waiting time had been short, I could have been more considerate, but that wasn't the case. The waiting time was very long, and all I saw was one worker cooking all the orders, while two other workers were standing behind, watching (even though they had three woks ready to use).

Ordered chicken fried rice with additional edamame from Tampines One, but I received plain fried rice! I'm just eating plain fried rice without any ingredients, and I paid $7.90 for it! This is horrible!

Ordered Egg Fried Rice with Chicken and Nai Bai, with Tobikko. The Tobikko was missing from the order.

"Yesterday, I placed an online order through Wok Hey for two chicken egg fried rice and one prawn egg fried rice (order number 66445, as shown on the SMS). After collecting the order and returning home, I discovered that all three were chicken egg fried rice. There's a $1 price difference between the prawn and chicken options, and the customer ends up bearing that cost. While the online ordering and collection is a good idea, there's no recourse for mistakes like this. Customers aren't likely to unpack and individually check each item, since everything is packaged securely. I urge Wok Hey to enhance their preparation and packaging process with a double-check to avoid such mistakes in the future. Thanks."

Ordered the National Day Edition Crab Meat Laksa Fried Rice Max ($11.80). Very yummy 😋! It's best to order directly through their website to save time. You'll get an SMS once it's ready for collection, as waiting times may be longer, especially during peak meal hours.

Their egg fried rice is consistently delicious, although waiting times can be a little long. I've found that ordering ahead online, via their website, helps to avoid this.
I ordered crab meat egg fried rice, but the crab meat was missing. I sent feedback through their website and received a reply within 20 minutes, at 8:30 pm on a weekday! I was really impressed with the turnaround time. They offered a $10 voucher for the inconvenience, which was great. Overall, I'm pleased with the service recovery, quick replies, and tasty food. Will definitely be back! (:

"Tried their Truffle Fried Rice MAX and Truffle Udon MAX. I loved that they included smoked turkey ham, cranberries, and macadamia nuts. A very good combination! I ordered online, and collection was swift."

Bought their new Braised Abalones Black Pepper Fried Rice MAX.
It perfectly captures the CNY theme of joy and prosperity. The dish includes Baby Abalones, Pineapples, and savory Black Pepper. It's a blend of luxurious Baby Abalones with sweet Pineapples and peppy Black Pepper Fried Rice.
Order ahead of time using WOK HEY's online pickup website to avoid the queues. I only waited for 10 minutes!
