It is the match almost everyone predicted: Argentina vs Spain, Monday 20 July 2026, 3.00am Singapore time, at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. Lionel Messi's Argentina are chasing back-to-back titles after edging England 2-1 in their semi-final, while Spain outclassed France 2-0 to book the other spot. For east-side fans who want to watch it with a crowd rather than on the sofa, Our Tampines Hub (OTH) is running the biggest free screening in the east, spread across four venues so even a Final-sized crowd gets absorbed.

OTH is one of 56 People's Association community clubs and integrated hubs screening the Final free, walk-in, no reservation. The catch is the timing. It is 3am on a Monday, the MRT is not running at kick-off, and there are no Sunday-night night buses, so getting there means driving, a taxi or private-hire car, or picking a venue close enough to walk to. Getting home is easier, because Monday's first trains start around 5.45am to 6am from most stations, and a regulation 90 minutes ends around 5am.

Four screening spaces, one hub

OTH is laying out the Final across four spaces. The Festive Plaza is the main atrium-level venue, with large screens broadcasting to audiences seated on rows of chairs across the red-carpeted stage area, escalators and retail spaces visible in the multi-level atrium above. When that fills, overflow runs to Space @08 on Level 2, the Central Plaza, and the Community Auditorium on Level 3. The setup is the same one OTH has used through the knockout stages under its "Game On! Tampines" banner, with seating that accommodates wheelchair users and mobility scooters, so the crowd is genuinely mixed.

The screenings are inclusive by design. Large screens display the matches with clear visibility from multiple points in each space, and the Festive Plaza signage marks the zone as a dedicated community-events area. Stage lighting, LED displays and organised seating rows give the atrium a stadium-like atmosphere within the mall complex, which is part of the draw. You are watching a Final at 3am in a packed community space, not alone on a couch.

The 3rd-place warm-up

If you want to dial in your body clock first, the third-place play-off between France and England runs on Sunday 19 July at 5.00am Singapore time, also free on Channel 5 and mewatch, and a useful dry run for the 3am Final. OTH's July screening schedule has covered the knockout rounds from the Round of 16 onward, so the third-place match and the Final cap a month of community screenings at the hub.

Getting there and getting home

The transport plan matters more than the football for this one. Last trains leave Tampines station around midnight Sunday, and the NightRider and Nite Owl night buses only run on Friday, Saturday and eve-of-holiday nights, so there is no night bus on a Sunday night. Getting to OTH means driving, a taxi or PHV, or walking if you live nearby. The Tampines MRT interchange (EW2 / DT32) sits directly below the hub, and Monday's first trains start around 5.45am, so a regulation match that ends near 5am leaves only a short wait, or none if it goes to extra time and penalties.

If you are driving, the OTH carpark is the easy option, but check the overnight rate. Expect PHV surge pricing right after the final whistle. If the boss asks why you are blurry on Monday morning, "national duty" is the only acceptable answer. Argentina vs Spain only happens so often.
