Tampines Harmony in Unity and Diversity Event at Our Tampines Hub
Our Tampines Hub hosted Tampines: Harmony in Unity and Diversity, an afternoon celebration of Singapore's multicultural spirit featuring vibrant cultural performances and community participation. The event welcomed Tampines Grassroots Advisers Minister Masagos Zulkifli, Minister David Neo, and Dr Charlene Chen, whose attendance added significance to the occasion. Attendees marked a successful Singapore Book of Records achievement during the celebration.
Community and Government Agency Participation
Participants gathered inside Our Tampines Hub, where signage for SERVICE Hub, ICA, SkillsFuture, Digital Office, and other government agencies lined the walls behind the crowd. Individuals wore traditional attire reflecting Singapore's diverse cultural communities, including batik, hijab, and sari. The Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth (MCCY) coordinated performers, partners, and volunteers for the celebration.
Many Pieces One Community Cake Ceremony
A large rectangular cake decorated with colourful brushstroke swirls in red, orange, yellow, green, and blue formed a circular motif carrying the message "Many Pieces One Community" dated 25 July 2026. Adults and children gathered around the cake table, with photographs of children's faces displayed in the background. The cake ceremony underscored the event's theme of bringing diverse community members together.
Cultural Performances and Traditional Attire
Performers dressed in Malay and Indian traditional costumes took part in the harmony celebration, with a background poster displaying diverse family imagery under the event theme. The programme highlighted Singapore's multicultural fabric through music, dance, and ceremonial moments including a handshake between attendees in traditional dress.
Stage Performances at Our Tampines Hub
The stage at Our Tampines Hub featured cultural dance performances with performers in colourful attire, accompanied by microphones and musical instruments. The event, held in July, bore the branding of People's Association and mCOO, reflecting the grassroots and community organisation support behind the initiative. The stage setup drew audiences from across the Tampines community to witness the performances and the Singapore Book of Records milestone.
The celebration received support from MCCY, performers, partners, volunteers, and community members who contributed to the event's success. Together, the gathering celebrated differences, strengthened community bonds, and reinforced Singapore's commitment to building a harmonious society.
