Cultivating Community: A Successful Harvest Day at OTH Eco-Community Garden

The past weekend mornings brought a vibrant atmosphere to Our Tampines Hub (OTH) as residents of Tampines gathered to participate in a special Harvest Day at the OTH Eco-Community Garden. This engaging event was designed to offer hands-on public education, highlighting our ongoing eco-sustainability efforts aimed at building a cleaner and greener community for all.
Residents were warmly welcomed to the Eco-Community Garden, located on Level 5, ready to immerse themselves in the joys of urban gardening. Under the expert and friendly guidance of our dedicated OTH Champz volunteer gardeners, participants learned the ropes of cutting, pruning, and harvesting various vegetables, aloe vera plants, and more. It was a wonderful opportunity for community members to connect with nature and understand the journey of their food from plant to plate.
The day was filled with fun, learning, and a shared sense of accomplishment. To further encourage sustainable practices within households, all participants were delighted to receive complimentary packets of organic fertiliser. We truly hope that everyone who joined had an enjoyable and enriching time, experiencing firsthand the benefits of community green initiatives.
Events like Harvest Day are a testament to the belief that there's always something for everyone at Our Tampines Hub, fostering community spirit and promoting environmental consciousness in a delightful way.
