Plant Workshops at Our Tampines Hub: Mame Bonsai and Carnivorous Plants
Our Tampines Hub hosted two plant workshops on a Sunday morning, inviting participants to explore the art of bonsai and carnivorous plants. The sessions covered Mame Bonsai crafting and hands-on botanical arrangements featuring pitcher plants and sundews.
Mame Bonsai Workshop
The first workshop introduced participants to the tranquil art of Mame Bonsai, a Japanese style of miniature bonsai cultivation. Attendees crafted their own miniature living masterpieces designed to add serenity to their home spaces. Participants handled small potted plants and learned root pruning techniques as part of the hands-on session.
Carnivorous Plants Workshop
The second workshop focused on carnivorous plants, where attendees learned about pitcher plants and sundews. Participants tested their plant knowledge and built custom botanical arrangements to take home. The session combined education with practical hands-on activity in an indoor community space at Our Tampines Hub.
Workshop Atmosphere
The workshops drew a group of plant enthusiasts who spent their Sunday morning growing and learning together. Five participants engaged in hands-on bonsai root pruning during the educational sessions, which were held in an indoor space with light wood flooring and recessed lighting typical of Our Tampines Hub's community areas.
