Singapore/Malaysia Luminous Dragon Dance Competition Dazzles OTH
Our Tampines Hub (OTH) recently hosted its inaugural Singapore/Malaysia Luminous Dragon Dance Competition 2025, transforming the Community Auditorium into a breathtaking black-light spectacle. This vibrant event served as a special celebration for SG60, showcasing a unique blend of tradition and innovation.
Under the enchanting glow of UV lighting, magnificent dragon puppets came alive, captivating an audience of approximately 1800 attendees. Troupes from both Singapore (7 teams) and Malaysia (8 teams) delivered powerful performances, embodying the spirit of tradition, creativity, and unity through their intricate choreography and dazzling displays.
A particularly poignant moment of the evening was the striking SG60 formation, a powerful symbol of communities moving forward together. The competition was graced by the presence of Minister Masagos Zulkifli, Adviser to Tampines GRC GROs. Adding to the significance of the event was the return of Master Ee, a pioneer of the luminous dragon dance art form, whose presence on the local stage made the night truly unforgettable.
This remarkable event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of Tampines West CSN and the Singapore Dragon and Lion Dance Sports Federation.
