FOOD TOXICOLOGIST

Job Description:

We are looking for a qualified and detail-oriented Food Toxicologist to assess the safety of food products and ingredients. The ideal candidate will analyze potential toxic substances in food, evaluate risk levels, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct toxicological risk assessments on food additives, contaminants, packaging materials, and residues.
• Perform laboratory tests and analyze data to identify potential health hazards.
• Interpret toxicological findings to determine safe levels of food exposure.
• Collaborate with regulatory bodies to ensure products meet safety standards (e.g., FDA, EFSA, or Singapore Food Agency).
• Review and develop safety documentation for food ingredients.
• Monitor updates in food safety legislation and guidelines.
• Provide scientific input into product development and quality assurance processes.
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to internal teams or external stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Toxicology, Food Science, Biochemistry, or related field (PhD preferred for senior roles).
• Strong knowledge of toxicological principles, risk assessment, and regulatory requirements.
• Experience working with food safety testing laboratories or regulatory agencies is an advantage.
• Proficient in data analysis and scientific reporting.
• Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
