Engineer/Senior Engineer (Data Ops Admin) [Linux,

Job Description: 

• Be part of a team to deploy, manage and provide support for databases and data lake platforms. 
• Develop and implement strategies for high availability, backup and recovery and disaster planning. 
• Identify and resolve database issues and performance bottlenecks. 
• Implement database security policies, procedures and best practices in compliance to industry security standards. 
• Develop or implement ways to enhance client’s data warehouses, data lakes or equivalent platforms. 
• Creation and upkeep of documentations e.g. design documents, troubleshooting guides etc

Requirements:

• Diploma/Degree in Computer Engineering/Computer Science/Information Technology or related technical discipline
• Knowledge and/or experience in Database Administration 
• Knowledge and/or experience with Linux operating system and scripting  Knowledge and/or experience in at least one or more of the following:

o Hadoop Distributions (eg. Cloudera, Hortonworks, etc)

o Relational Databases (eg. Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL)

o NoSQL Databases (eg. MongoDB, Neo4J, CosmosDB, etc) 

• Knowledge and/or experience in one or more of the following will be advantageous:

o Data Virtualization tools (eg. Denodo, etc) o Scripting languages (eg. PL/SQL, Python, T-SQL, etc)

o Cloud platforms (eg. AWS, Azure) o Docker/Kubernetes environments 

• Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills 
• Able to work independently and as a tea
