Counsellor

Brahm Centre is a registered mental health charity dedicated to promoting happier and healthier living through holistic programs. We empower individuals to create their own happiness. We are a full member of the National Council of Social Services and an Institution of Public Character.

We have a care management team supported by trained volunteers. Working with the Agency for Integrated Care, the Ministry of Health and healthcare and educational institutions, we support the community through health education, case management, counselling services and outreach. We offer wellness programs and art courses designed to enhance overall well-being.

This position is to support the various programs organised for the benefits and well being of migrant domestic workers (MDWs) principally from Indian subcontinent.

Job scope

• Provide counselling services to individuals facing emotional distress, stress, anxiety, or other mental health concerns.
• Conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, offer therapeutic interventions, and supporting clients in managing emotional and psychological challenges.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to provide holistic support.
• Provide case management to augment care plan and monitor clients’ progress.
• Maintain accurate client records, ensure timely documentation of care and adhere to ethical counselling practices and maintain client confidentiality.
• Provide supervision to care coordinator (Omega) to ensure holistic care delivery.
• Community engagement and advocacy to raise awareness about mental health support and skill building opportunities for MDWs through community outreach and SIPs.
• Conduct training to MDWs to bring awareness and improve mental health care.

Requirements

• Master of Counselling
• Good communication and organizational skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer usage.
• Required to work on Sunday.
• Ability to speak Tamil/Hindi.
